Just to clarify for the paranoid, sensitive, and short-fused members out there...this is largely an opinion based website in the form of a discussion forum. Think of it as the 19th hole after a round with a bunch of foursomes. You walk into the room and you know 20 or so people. They all have an 'opinion', they all have differences. Some are loud, some are quiet. Some come off as a know-it-all, some have no clue. So on and so on.

The point being is when you read a post here, it should be fairly obvious as to what statements are grounded in fact. They kind of look like this: "Phil won the 2006 Masters", "Ernie plays Titleist clubs", or "Golf is a four letter word". Other than statements like those, 99.9% of the time, a post is an opinion of the poster. It may be grounded in all kinds of statements of experience, it may have lots of supporting evidence, but in the end it's the opinion of the poster - even if it looks pretty darn factual.

SO....those of you out there who get a kick out of calling out another member because their post comes across as too harsh for your taste and you feel the need to remind them it's their opinion, DON'T DO IT. Just go with the rules of be kind to your fellow members and never state the obvious. While we welcome all kinds of views and opinions, the ones we do not need are posts from the opinion police.

It's quite simple, those of you who want to jump on another member, think twice before you submit that post, because while we have a nice little warning system here, sometimes we just skip to the banning part because we really don't need public arguments over nothing.

Respect each other's opinions and stop judging your fellow members.

Thank you.

And DM is 3 out of the 4 :)

I thought twice, and I still couldn't stop myself from doing it...

:bb: :)

Back to the subject:

The members also have to find a way to roll with the punches. Everyone that has posted their fair share, has been flamed or slammed from time to time. It comes with the territory. I know a few, but one specific member, who use to love getting peoples panties in a bunch. That member is a great asset to the forum, but received some flack because some of the newer members didn't realize it was his normal routine, not just picking on them.... Now he's a mod!! :ok: :bb:

There is some flaming that is way over the top - some that cross the line from a healthy jab to a brutal attack. There are no excuses for those and they shouldn't be tolerated.

If you feel so strongly about a subject or member, that the only comment you're able to make is a personal attack, you need to find a different venue to voice those concerns.

I've been getting on this forum for some time now, and yes I've seen some put downs. But this is a great site and I completely agree that most of the personal attacks are not necessary. I love the fact that this site is very nice, and I try to do my part to keep it that way. So in conclusion, stating the obvious is one thing, but being harsh to others isn't good. Thanks for the oppurtunity to share these opinions.

Cheers!
