735.CM wins the bag count by a LARGE margin

over 20% of the field was playing 735.CM!!! 20%!! thats not 1/5 titleist.. it's 1/5 735.CM's. I was shocked. Many of these guys had tour issue clubs and have tested EVERYTHING... one of the club pros made the cut as baltusrol last year. Only one bag contained x-tours... for all you that love to debate them. I don't believe it had anything to do with them being cavities... as many of the pros used cavities. the pro at my club finished 2 shots off the lead and used ping I5's. there was also a strange lack of mizunos.. which i took notice of being a mizuno iron groupie.

everything else was varied pretty much as you'd expect. the lesson: if you're actually a player.. play what you like. there's no wrong choice except if you truly need more game improvement then you're willing to play. be honest with yourself but definitely go with what you like as opposed to being bossed around by your local fitter.

again.. i was totally stunned by the high number of 735.CM irons in play. i wouldnt have ever expected ANY iron to be that inordinately prominent.

I am one of the PGA Pro's that beleives that this is the best set of irons ever made. Everything I ever wanted in a set of clubs. I bought a second set for the closet 4 weeks after getting my Staff set from Titleist.

went to a demo day over the weekend where several companys were represented...3 clubs jumped out: the 735's, new miz. 60 irons and the bridgstone iron-hybrid (airmuscle?)...anyway, all three very easy to hit and very smooth

Titleist has always done their homework very well in the Club Pro market, from drivers, right on through the bag to balls, shoes and gloves...

I wonder how many of these guys were Titleist staff players? Not saying these aren't great clubs, but I do think the numbers can sometimes be misleading. Titleist does a good job of getting club pros into their clubs because the members will see what their pro is playing and potentially influence any potential purchases. My pro plays the 735s as well, but I know he likes many others just the same, but those companies didn't offer the same perks as Titleist.

While I'm sure that the extensive Titleist staff program has something to do with the number of Titleist irons in play, Titleist makes a number of high quality irons, and I think the really telling number is that 20% of the field played a single model of Titleist iron.
