Reteifs Putter?

I know that he has played a Yes! putter for some time now, and I am sure that he is sponsored/endorsed by them for his flatstick, but on TV I thought I saw something weird.

 

While picking his ball out of the hole during todays coverage, I thought I saw him using a putter that looked like like it had a black insert.

 

Has he switched for this round, or am I going crazy??

he was using a taylormade putter today. in a interview after the round he mentioned his putting hasn't been that good recently. don't know if this is just a change of pace or something more permanent.

yup, he went to the rossa, i was thinking of posting something about this but ya beat me to it! good call. he sure did putt well today not to mention some nice iron shots and didnt he just switch those too?

The putter goose used today was exact copy of his yes! tracy putter with AGSI insert.

Eh, Goose has been doing this sort of thing for quite a while now, but people are only starting to notice it now coz it now has a Rossa insert.

 

I saw his putter last year at the European Open in the K Club, and it was definitely a Yes! Tracy (With C-Grooves), with that oval shaped Rossa emblem on the reverse side of the face.

 

Taylormade are clearly making him do this so that, when there is a close up view of him from behind while taking a putt, they get the publicity of having the Rossa emblem shown. This is obviously something to do with his contract with TM, although I don't see how/why Yes! let them away with it!

 

So, the putter he was using on Sunday was just taking something he's been doin for quite a while, one step further.

I just noticed on the TaylorMade website that they "say" that the putter the Goosen is was using at the Wachovia (in N.C, we say that "means watch over you") is a prototype they are working on for him.

 

Yeah,sure.

 

I'm a TM and Goosen fan but that putter sure looks like a Yes! to me.

Goosen has used a Yes putter since his 1st US OPEN victory at Southern Hills. TaylorMade just wants their product in one of their top, if not the top staffer. Another club in his bag means big bucks for the company.

 

It all comes down to $$$. Looks at the TaylorMade balls. They are trying to get all of their staffers away from using a Titleist ball. I'm sure it kills the Exec's when they see thier players in a Titleist add saying Titleist is the best and #1 Ball.
