For anyone that might like to see a few holes of SHCC. Given it is a fly over elevation is really hard to judge but off number one tee is significant.

Playing hear in a week with my Pops, father in law and a buddy!!! Can't wait. Will be my second time around. Last time was October and dormant.

I hear Souther Hills lost quite a few trees in a recent storm we had and bermuda grow-in has been spotty after a rough winter. I've heard they re-sodded a lot of their fairways, interested to see what it looks like ... a carpet no doubt.

Try to get some new pics soon. Yes we had the worst winter kill in years on what were by far the best new fairways just sickening. Both 9's on Championship Course are completed, they are moving to west nine now. Then, last week straight line winds clocked over 90 MPH hit the course, took at some trees and damaged some. That clean up has closed the course since hopefully reopen this Thursday. I drove out yesterday just to look it over and the new sod with all the rain and temps is already blending in really well, by June you will never know it took place. we without a doubt have the best course crews you can get. I have played all over the country, traveled for 20+ years and have yet to play somewhere where they have the number of people always working the course. And they are like deer when you come up where they are, stop and stare until you are thru the hole.

I heard they ordered 30 acres of sod due to winterkill. I, of course, doubt they laid that much sod, but jeez, that's a ton.

BTW, what's the West 9 like? I've only seen it, never played it...

SHCC is in much better shape after sodding and lots of heat. Holes # 1-4 are really tough if you don't hit it in the fairway and if you do, got to be on the right side of it to have the best angle at hitting the green.

Hey guys, I used to caddy out at SHCC. I also was one of the first lucky people to play the course after it was completely redone a good couple years ago. I got to play 9 holes as the sun was going down. It is simply gorgeous... long but gorgeous for sure. The greens were real soft that day and the fairways perfect. Rough was thick but manageable. Its been a long time since I've been out there but thinking about heading back out there to see if I can caddy some more to maybe get an 'in' or and invite from one of the members to go play.
I think the coolest hole on the course is #1. The elevated tee box is very cool and it feels like you're just driving the ball forever. The green on 1 is tricky. I can't remember exactly what it does but I do remember it had a false edge on the back. Wish I remembered more about the course.
