New to Vegas.... where do I play

I am new to Vegas. I was looking for some golf help. I live in Summerlin (right next to Badlands GC). My questions are as follows:

 

1) Other than GolfNow.com and EZLinks.com, are there any other discounted price web-sites (or other means to get discounted playing rates)?

 

2) I entered to play the US Open qualifier at Dragon Ridge on May 18. Is there any place to get a discounted rate at this course, in order to get a few practice rounds in first.

 

3) What is the best value for money here in Vegas in terms of golf courses to play cheaply.

 

4) Lastly....anyone up for a round? I can only play weekends. I suspect March 3/4 would be the first opportunity I would have to play.

1. Golfnow.com is really the only place to get decent rates here. However, for every course you like you should sign up for their "email" discounts. That way you will know when certain courses have deals.

2. Sometimes Dragon Ridge flys email specials and sometimes on golfnow.com. SNGA.COM (Southern Nevada Golf Association) has a few tournaments there and they post practice rounds that are reasonable. Call and see what they can do, be specific that you are local and playing in the US Open qualifier and want to play a practice round. SNGA.COM is

3. Define cheaply? You definately want to sign up at a course or two for their "Player Card" memberships. Sun City Summerlin has two good courses (Palm Valley and Highland Falls) some of the best deals around. Painted Desert has a great monthly program. Paiute has some of the best courses and conditions. Angel Park / Aliante / Legacy has a very good players card program as well.

4. Weekends can be brutally slow here, Saturdays are crazy busy. Sundays are much lighter.
