Hybrids > fairway woods?

Anyone playing lower lofted hybrids than woods??

My current setup is this:

R510TP - 9.5*
T60 - 3 & 5 wood

I'm pretty consistent off the tee with the driver and rarely use my 3-wood. I am considering a 17* / S300 Mizuno CLK and T60 5-wood / stock graphite setup.

The basic idea is that the driver will continue to be used on most par 4s and every par 5. The CLK is for use on short par 4s where hopefully it'll give me a full pitch to reach the green.

Second, on the par 5s the CLK would allow me to run the ball onto the green where the 5 wood flies all the way - less control (for me!). The trajectory on the CLK should automatically be lower and give me more roll.

Anyone else using this combo?? And why?

BTW: My irons are 4-PW currently.

I know this isn't exactly what you're asking Jesper, but have you ever tried playing with a 4 wood??

Obviously a question coming from a guy who's been playing his 4-wood in ages

I've had a 4-wood in the bag but it didn't give me the necessary loft when needed - it was a TM 300 Tour.

However, it has been a while and maybe I should give a 4-wood a new try..?! The idea isn't bad!

I never hit fairway woods well in my life..

So in my bag currently I have a 16* and 19* hybrid..

I like the smaller head and they're workable too.

i've never trusted my 3 wood so i stopped carrying it and love my 15* bridgestone hybrid. i trust it off the tee and the fairway. it's very long and minor mishits get great distance. it's also square and very workable. i can hit it a mile at full speed.. piercing ball flight. but i can also choke down and hit a punch draw or an easy fade 20-30 yards shorter than a full shot with precise distance control. also great feel.

ive tried the CLK and like it a lot. i know a lot of guys that play it and they all love it.
