Can't hit my Wedges

For some reason, I have not been able to hit my wedges. I can hit my irons fine but it is something about the wedges that i cant hit. I dont know if its because its so short but i usually hit them fat (chunk them) or hit a slice to the right. For my irons, my ball striking has been really good, but for some reason i am having all these problems with just my 52, 56 and 60 wedges.

What is wrong?!?

Maybe if you put up a video people could help you better....

maybe youre moving too much up and down (double reverse) a really big swing... just guessing

I would just take shorter shots for more control like a 1/2 to 3/4 shot.

from there you can get your beirings... that's what I do when I have wedge trouble.

Wedges are fun.

How many Pros have you watched hit a wedge and you see them still looking down at where the ball was after contact was made with the clubface and ball? I've seen several Pros and Amatuers do this and it has helped me quite a bit.

Do this next time you are at the range, but only swing back in 1/4 swings, like waist high but hinge your wrists. Then once you get that down, start unhinging them. Depending on whom you talk to, some say you need a good wrist ****, others say no. I tend to do both depending on the situation.

To review, take out a sand wedge. Place the ball in the middle of your stance or just slightly behind. Take the club back where your arms are waist high, **** your wrists then come down and through but watch the club make the divot and make sure you are hitting the little ball (golf ball) before you are hitting the big ball (the Earth). After you get that shot down, then take the club back further. After you get that shot down, switch to your pitching wedge.

The wedge shot should be fairly easy. The hardest part for me is dialing in the distance of each. My waist high SW goes about 50 yards and my full swing SW goes about 90. Waist high PW goes about 70 yards and full swing I am around 110.

These shots are very important if you want to start shaving strokes off of your game.

I have been haunted by the same thing this season. Went to an old pro at my course (The Ditch) ... he said I was hanging back & creating a reverse C. I could not feel it. It is sometimes very subtle. Plus my weight was back on my heels. I now focus on my weight shifted 60/40 to my left (forward) & on the balls of my feet ... & following thru. This worked for me. I suggest you see a pro ... a lesson is cheaper than losing a couple sleeves of Pro V1's in the water. Plus it is easier on your mind to correct a flaw early - rather than later.
