Ben Hogan FTX vs. MP-60 vs. X-Tours

Which do you prefer and why? Playability? Ballflight?

I currently play the MP-60's but i have to switch to Callaway's or Hogan.

I was set on getting the Hogan FTX, due to the width and bounce of the soe of the x-tours that do not appeal to me, and i prefer the feel of the FTX.

But i today i noticed that the FTX have a lot more offset in the 3-6 than my MP-60's and the X-Tours, which i do not like visually and playability wise.

I want to hear from othersd that have played either of these sets and please try to compare pro's and cons for each.

I just sold my MP-60's for the same reason you do not like the FTX's... I just think the off-set on this set is akward looking.

Mine are gone and I now have the HOGAN Apex blades. Love them!

I like all three clubs. I ended up getting the X-tour for the forgiveness advantage. I still find them to be workable, and I do not mind the thicker soles. I agree with others when I think they do a good job hiding some of their clunkyness. They are still clunky, but not overly so.

 

It will be hard for them to get pulled out of the bag. I really like them.

If you are switching to cally/ Hogan look at the new apex blades. They are awsome!

I currently play the FTXs and wouldn't switch for the world! My only slight complaint being the offset in the longer irons but I have adjusted to that. They are very workable which is exactly what I am after. The transition between cavity back and blade is gradual meaning there is no big jump in feeling/control. They are currently away being fitted with new rifle 7.0s and i can't wait to see what they feel like when they get back!

 

In comparison to the X-tours I would say that they are very different clubs. While I really like the feeling off the face from the callies i just can't get over the overall size and clunkiness. I'm really into my traditional clubs though so it seems like its all down to the preference. If possible I would suggest hitting both of them...and not just a 6 iron demo, 4 and 8 are what I normally try and get hold of.

I don't understand why you changed to the Hogans. I'm looking to switch from my Callaway X-14's to the MP60's because I've outgrown the offset. Any insight to this issue will be appreciated..

semi staff.... frowned upon for playing all callaway except for my mp-60's.

 

I would prefer to just keep them.

 

But then i would sacrafice getting stuff from Cally....not good.
