Slazenger Blades

Some info?

Ok so these old blades were my Dads. He passed on when I was only 6 and long before I played golf.
Just wanted to know some info about these irons. I doubt they were even expensive but would like to know.
I have the set still and I started playing with them (as hard as they were to hit ). Set goes 2-9 iron.
Are stamped TPM on the back and USA on the sole.

Any info is much appreciated.

I prefer the blade style iron rather than the cavity back.

I prefer minimum colours irons rather than todays "light show" irons.

I prefer softer stainless steel to soft or hard chromed forged or cast grey steel.

I prefer a flat or slight convex radius blade sole.

To my way of thinking, your Slazenger iron blades appear to be a well made iron for a lower handicap player [u]and is good looking[/u].
If you wanted to improve the clubs ability to perform " with your swing", you could start looking at rebuilding your irons to match your swing weight or Moment of Inertia(MOI), spine aligning the exsisting shafts and then checking/adjusting lie & lofts. You could even make-em shine again with a Sisel wheel and black buffing compound to start with. The shaft is the engine of any golf club. Beleive it or not - these little things I have mentioned do add up to improved club performance, lower scores and more enjoyment of the game(imho!)

I don't know alot about Slazengers. There are alot of smarter and more knowledgeable people on this web site than me. If they were my dads - I would want to make every effort to use them [u]but[/u] rebuilt to my swing.

Thanks for the reply Max. Im not looking to play them but Im not going to sell them.
I was just hoping to find out what they were like back in their time.
They could come out one day if I play a retro day.

I have the 1 iron that matches the set! Seve used them all his life. There was a really nice Model Slazenger Supremo TPM which he used in the late 80s, then Slazenger brought out Seve Blades. Great clubs though!

Ok thats good to hear. Just realised I dont have the 9 iron. Dont know what happened to it

I have hit the 2 iron a few times and thats hard enough I cant imagine the 1 iron.
