Great zoysia fairways and near perfect greens

Just wanted to tell everyone, I had a great time playing Emerald Falls over the holiday weekend. The fairways looked great (zoysia instead of bermuda) and the greens were smooth and fast (compared to my usual La Fortune or White Hawk outings). I know this course has had some hit and miss conditioning problems in the past, especially when it first opened, but it was in amazing shape this past weekend.

If you've never been out there, do yourself a favor and give it a try. Get a yardage book or bring your own GPS as it is difficult to pick a line from a handful of the tee boxes if its your first time. If you haven't played in a while and were staying away because of the greens from 2 year ago, give it another shot. I believe its far away the best public course in the Tulsa area.

I'm a fan of the design of course, too, but maybe that's another topic, I'll only say be sure you pick the right tees, its a monster from the back.

If anyone else has conditionn feedback on courses around town, I'd love to hear it. Our bermuda fairways are having a difficult time coming in.

I love Emerald Falls and have played it many times in the past year or so. I live right by Forest Ridge and will still drive the 10 minutes to play EF. Holes 7 and 8 are quite a back to back punch. I really like 11-15 and it seems that they have really improved the drainage. They are doing 3 and 6 month memberships so t might be time to go that route. I usually play on Mon-Wed when they offer discounts. It is nice to play with someone who knows the course a little if it is your first time because of some of the blind approaches and tricky landing areas. Overall it is a fun course.
