It's Back!

I really liked Futurama, it was a pretty funny show while it was on, and i think some of Fox's best sunday nights were King of the Hill, The Simpsons, Futurama, and Family Guy all in a row. I'm pretty excited, hopefully the show will maintain the decent writing that's completely escaped it's long lost brothers I mentioned above.

Futurama Has A Future

Comedy Central has resurrected the former Fox animated SF series Futurama, ordering 13 episodes to debut in 2008, Variety reported. The deal builds on the cable network's acquisition of the 72-episode library last fall.

Discussions about a revival of the half-hour show began in earnest earlier this year between Futurama producer 20th Century Fox Television and series creators Matt Groening and David X. Cohen. A sticking point, which has been resolved, had been bringing back the cast, who hadn't worked on new episodes for the show since it left the air in August 2003.

Voice actors Billy West, Katey Sagal and John DiMaggio are on board for the new episodes, which will continue the story of Fry (West), a pizza delivery boy who was accidentally frozen for 1,000 years and who wakes up in the future.

Well I'm a very big fan of Futurama. Have seen all episodes like 10 times. Bender is so great. That is really, really great news..

I'm my opinion, Futurama could come back with a newly lit fire and take control of the animated sit com. The Simpsons needs to retire, I've always liked King of the Hill, but that's strating to become redundant. Family Guy has changed it's humour style and it just doesn't make me laugh like it used to as much as it's now just grossing me from time to time. If Futurama comes back and it hasn't changed, and becomes successful, I think they could retire the Simpsons (no offense to them in any way, I love the Simpsons, but they just don't seem to have it anymore, not like they used to).

That's true unfortuneately about the Simpsons. They piqued a few years ago and now it's going downhill. The new episodes aren't anywhere as good as they used to be. The worst part is that I still have faith in that show; occasionally a new episode will make me laugh a lot and I will think it will sshow more funny ones, but it doesn't work like that unfortuneately. I think the writers just need to relax and write like they used to; too many of the jokes seem too forced, and not funny.

 

Futurama's great though; I love Dr. Zoidberg! He's the best, and then Bender. Fry is really funny too. It's a great cast. There aren't any characters that are annoying/boring, whereas on the Simpsons, Marge and Lisa are both annoying as hell, especially as of late; without someone like Homer or Bart or someone else funny, the show would go under, whereas Futurama could lose a funny character, and it will still be funny.
