Looks like we have members up for at least a southern, midlands and northern day come the spring.
As previous post, all it takes is someone to propose a course, a price for a round and a meal ...and away we go.....

I am happy to set something up for the north east, will be back with details soon.

Hi, I was very keen to arrange a golf day in the NE but there seemed to be very little in the way of expressions of interest (see above posts). Without those it is difficult to negotiate rates, book tees, meals etc. I asked the WRX site to advertise it, but they said no.

It is now probably too late for 2011, but I shall bite the bullet and fix something for spring.

I don't think WRX members are too worried about where we play (I mean...we are not too snobby about the course), as long as we get to meet up and get a game, bite to eat some chat and a laugh.

I will ask around over winter and see what I can come up with, keep the cost realistic.

I shall take the north east, if anyone wants to take another area, lets go!

Would be very interested, particularly as I am Midlands based. Have played over 120 courses in this region and would agree with the suggestions of Copt Heath, Beau Dessert & Whittington. Please NO!!!! to West Midlands GC or Branston.

Whittington would be good if anyone wants to play over winter.... holds up fantastic in the wet ;) also some fantastic places like the oxfordshire have stupid deals including bacon butties this time of year

well I'm from Northern Ireland, but get across the pond quite often (played the Brabazon at the Belfry yesterday!!) so I'll try to get over if i can arrange some business in the area - as i work all over the UK from Aberdeen to Portsmouth - I'm up for anywhere!partytime2.gif

That's two of us from Northern Ireland! Enough for an NI Regional meet??

When the now defunct GolfPunk Magazine was alive and well we had several get togethers including a match against the staff of the magazine near London, A four day golf and booze tour of the North West of Northern Ireland (including one member who flew in from the United Arab Emirates!!) and a Three day event in Scotland. Unfortunately these events died with the magazine!

Would love to be part of that kind of thing again so i'd consider any journey if the numbers were there!

Anyone on here who used the GolfPunk forum???

Has this happened yet?

I'd be happy to travel and have golf weekends all over the country. Would be a good chance to play new courses over a weekend (guess most folks are working).

Be good to have a monthly meet at different courses, grab a B&B and play a cpl of rounds.

Hey DoubleJ, hope you're doing well. Sadly I'm based in the south west so it's a bit far for me. Would have loved to get involved otherwise.
