minimum field for a medal???

Hi Guy's, just a quick question, is there a minimum amount of players required for a medal comp? the ladies at our club play some medals with only six or seven involved and then half of them NR and it becomes a non-qualifier???

 

Just wondering thats all.

CONGU have no minimum specified. But a singleton must have an approved marker.
The Ladies events you refer to may turn into Reduction Only but [b]cannot [/b]become non-qualifiers.

By the way CONGU no long refer to 'medals'.

What is "NR"? No return basically you submit your card without a score this could happen if you lose a ball don't hit a provisional then don't go back.
What is a "non-qualifier"? It's a comp that won't affect your handicap I.e half the field have put scores in then lightning or something else stops the remaining rounds bring completed.
What is "CONGU"? That's the name of uk handicap system

Further to the post above.
The UK system is based entirely on competition/tournament play. Sometimes a particular comp does not qualify for handicap consideration. (eg If too many temporary greens are in play or 18 holes are not available because of maintenance).

A competition may be judged to be for reductions of handicap only. This is when the conditions (eg weather or course) are so bad that the scores in general bear no relation to the general ability of players. This is determind by the software used to procees the competition scores.
