Z-Star vs Trispeed

Has anyone played the Z-Star and the Trispeed side by side? Your thoughts?

If you are talking the Trispeed, the comparison isn't close. If you are a slower swinger you will probably see more distance with the Trispeed. Overall the ZStar will spin alot more.

If you are talking about the Trispeed Tour I would say that it plays fairly close to the ZStar outside of 100 yards. With any other surlyn to urethane comparison, the ZStar will spin quite a bit more around the green and is softer off the putter.

While I play the Trispeed Tour (& Trispeed) as my regular ball I do have some Zstars in my stash. The Trispeeds tend to work better for my game but the Zstars are much better for short game spin and such. If you like to get more spin on your wedge shots then choose the Zstars over the Trispeeds'.

I recommend the Trispeed/Trispeed Tour for people people that like the extra distance for mid irons and really don't need a ball that spins alot around the green if they like to play for more roll on chip shots.

I thought that the Trispeed was suppose to be the cheaper Z Star and the Trispeed Tour was the cheaper Z Star X or XV, did not realize the Tour was closer to the Z Star. Like you I also play for a little more roll, I play my shot before the pin so it rolls close. I have never been able to stop the ball or bring it back unless its very soft greens. Although I do like the soft feeling of the Z Star off my putter, not sure if the Trispeed Tour will have the same soft feeling off the putter.

I have found the feel off the putter for the Trispeed/Trispeed Tour to be fairly soft. I also found them to have a nice true roll. When I started using the previous version of Trispeeds, I was getting a consistant roll and was not blowing them past the hole one time the shorting the next hole using the same tempo and speed on my putter (but then again maybe the putting stroke had more to do with it than the ball but for now let's credit the ball...lol).

Not sure why anyone would consider the Trispeed when the AD333 is available. Even seniors.
I'm still puzzled as to why Srixon still makes the Trispeed? Then again, maybe the Trispeed Tour is the planned replacement.

I agree... I actually prefer the AD333 to the Trispeed, plus it's cheaper.
