906 shaft problems?

With the recent shaft error involving the UST proforce V2, will Titleist likely fix the problem, or what?

any thoughts or predictions?

Could you provide more information about the error? Is it published anywhere?

I bought a 906F2 with V2 Stiff three weeks ago and I´m not able to get the ball in the air from the fairway... I also play the 905R with the V2 stiff and I did not experience this problem.

Many thanks.

ya...this shaft is low torque, 90 grams, and is in a bore thru hossle. this = very stiif, and a very low ball flight. seeing how I have a very HIGH ball flight, this has works wonders when I've hit the demo 906 w/ v2 at my home course. thing goes miles with great trajectory, but it has no feel, way to boardy for me.

There is nothing wrong with the shaft at all. It plays like a low-torque 90 gram shaft in a bore-thru head should. Just because the shaft plays well for you in a driver doesn't mean it'll play well in a fairway. I play an Accra SE80 in my driver, but my ballflight is dead with it in the fairway.

If you really like the V2, get yourself a 75 weight V2 and install it in the 906. If that doesn't do it for ya try the NV, NVS in a heavier weight, Fujikura E370, or on the high end the Fuji ZCom TW74.

I'm going to have to second everyone with the issue with the V2 in the 906. I just got mine today and haven't hit it yet but the shaft felt like a board just swinging it a few times. Has anyone had any luck with any other shafts in that head. My ballflight is pretty low so I think the V2 may be comin out soon.

I have a 906F2 with the V2 85X fairway shaft, and I love it. I hit a very high ball, and spin the ball quite a bit, and this thing just hits lasers for me. When it came in, I hit it immediately and it felt very stiff, but I swithched the grip out for a Decade cord on a whim because it is about 10 grams lighter than Titleist's stock grip, and it softened the shaft up just enough. When I ordered it, the rep was there, and he told me right up front that due to the heavy weight, low torque, and tip design of the fairway shaft, that it does play stiff to flex. Couple that with the deep bore thru hosel, and it is pretty darn stiff. I don't think it's fair to compare even the regular 85 gram V2 with the fairway version in this head. Fairway wood shafts are typically stiffer at the tip to help handle the additional impact with the turf, so they always feel a little stiffer to me. I think this shaft simply plays stiffer due to the fact that it was designed as a fairway shaft. I have tried the V2 75X in a callaway X tour fairway wood, and the shaft felt a lot looser than the shaft in the Titleist. Maybe my opinion is way off, I don't know, but for me the V2 fairway shaft in this head is just about perfect. I couldn't be happier with the performance thus far. Long and piercing flight, and ample workability.

I just got my 906 (15*) with a good ol' Dynamic Gold S300, and it's excellent. I decided on steel after hitting my 585H with the same shaft. Both clubs give me great feedback, and I am hitting the 906 farther than I hit my old Sonartec NP-99 with the blue Aldila 75 X.

I hit all the shafts in the 906 (on a simulator), and I thought the NV stiff was soft, the V2 stiff was a bit too firm and the stock Titleist shaft didn't give me good feedback.

Fortunately I know the manager at a local shop and hadn't taken the plastic off my V2 906. I traded it for an NV shafted 906. Better. Little light, but at least I can feel the clubhead. THe V2 felt like re-bar when I took some practice swings as well. My 585/V2 has already been sold for the same issue. I hit about 10 balls with it and knew it was a no-go.
