She definitely looks like she has gained a few pounds, her legs (thighs in particular) look a lot bigger. Given her height, she no longer looks like she would be toppled over by a good gust of wind. If it's all muscle this must surely help her game

While I'm certain it's not all muscle, we can expect Wie to bulk up some with her workout regimen over the next few years. She has a great frame to bulk up in...now the question is does she want to be toned like Gulbis or ripped like Annika? I think she'll do what's best for her endurance and golf specific muscles.

I agree 100% with you. I never liked or disliked him until the Open Championship. When he was whining about how Tiger got all the breaks with his early tee time and was the reason he scored a 65 b/c the course was playing so much easier. And then Els shot a 65 right after Sergio finished saying that.

Now that I've thrown that quote out there, I think that a 16-year old should wear more appropriate golf attire, especially given the worldwide "exposure" Wie gets on a daily basis. Nike has gone right up to the line, and maybe even crossed it, in designing Wie's clothing. My daughter is almost 2 years old, and I can't even imagine her wearing a skirt / skorts (whatever the heck it is) like that on TV at age 16.

What do you want? Knee skirts? I'm sure the ladies prefer shorter skirts, it is less resistance and more freedom during the swing. I think it looks elegant. They could wear shorts or slacks as the alternative.

 

Although I support Wie in her quest to play with men, but this has to be the lamest reply she made re: men playing in woman tourney's. Taken from ESPN.com

 

Wie also responded to Jean Van de Velde's call in October to allow men to compete in the Women's British Open.

I'm not asking for knee skirts necessarily. I'm simply stating that IMO a 16-year old "girl" (she's not yet a woman) should be wearing something a bit more tame. There's a time and place for mid-thigh skirts and the like, and IMO it's not the golf course, especially for a 16-year old.

 

If acceptable golf attire were based strictly on comfort, then PGA Tour players would be allowed to wear shorts in the summer months. It can't be comfortable wearing long pants when it's 90 plus with high humidity. Just ask Tim Herron or John Daly.

You're entitled to your opinion, but you couldn't be farther from the truth if your comment was aimed at me. I'm extremely comfortable in my own attire and with myself overall. Nobody loves me more than I do! :diablo:

 

My comment was that I think Michelle Wie's attire is sometimes too provacative for a 16-year old. It's that simple. Don't read anything else into the comment. It's not specific to Wie. If it were a 16-year old Jane Doe golfer or a 13-year old Dakoda Dowd, or any teenager in the mall, I'd have the same opinion. And just so you don't think I'm some stodgy old bastxxx living in the sticks of West Virginia, I'm 35, have a wife and 2-year old daughter and live in of Tampa, FL. I'm not the most liberal person, nor am I the most conservative.

 

Anyway, these are simply opinions and we all know what those are worth...mine included.

I spend a lot of time in high schools due to my job. Wie's attire is VERY modest compared to what the average teenage girl in Hawaii wears to school. Dress codes are different in the Islands. With that being said, I think she dresses and handles herself in general quite well. What other sixteen year old could handle themselves in the world spotlight with so much grace?
