Chicago to Phoenix

Advice

Ok, i need some help guys. I am traveling to the Phoenix area this week and i need some of you to rate these from playing at the beginning of our trip, then playing at the end considering our clubs have been collecting dust for the past few months. Had a few range sessions, but dont want to get my a** handed to me by playing them in the wrong rotation. Just rate them by difficulty please. Thanks in advance

You do know you will get all kinds of ratings.... But here in my opinion, all courses played from the tips easiest to hardest

Whirlwind, actually are two courses, DC harder than Cattails

Definitely, but hoping to get a few and they are somewhat close. I just don't want to not enjoy the beautiful tracks cause I'm getting worked. Thanks for the reply

Whirlwind - SLOPE 132 (CATTAIL) 129 (DEVILS CLAW)
Longbow - SLOPE 132
Southern Dunes - SLOPE 141
Quintero - SLOPE 147
Troon North - SLOPE 147 (MONUMENT) 149 (PINNACLE)

The slope ratings are from the furthest back tees.

If you aren't a single digit handicap and a midwest guy like myself, you will definitely get your a$$ kicked in the desert. I have played out there 2-3 years and getting that rust off is almost impossible to do out there. The hardest thing about desert golf is you rarely get the luxury of missing the fairway and finding your ball. In the midwest we usually get the other fairway to collect our ball and scramble to save par/bogey. Desert you are hitting off rocks and wondering if their is a bobcat within 12 feet. Its a great area to play so don't worry about your score, bring twice as many balls as you normally would (not kidding) and have a good time.

Southern Dunes from the tips may be hardest due to pure length (7500 yards??), but from a more reasonable tee, it can be fun to play. Still hard to score on but not kick in the nuts/lose a ball on every other hole hard.

Troon North I always found to be very unforgiving of slightly wayward shots (lost/unplayable).

I would agree that the Whirlwind courses are the most friendly.

That's what I was basing the observation on... The Dunes from the tips is a beast. Number three, tee shot carry of 265 to reach the very front edge of the fairway on a par five that then gives you a second shot of 260ish with trouble on three sides. And that's just the start.
