What is the coldest temperature you will play in?

Being in the Northwest we don't have much of a choice about golfing weather in the winter if you want to play. Mid-40s is the norm from late-Nov to mid-Feb. That said, as long as my course is open I will usually play. Basically what I trade off is temperature, wind and rain. I will play if I only have to deal with 2 out of 3. If all 3 suck, I will stay home and watch TV.

Generally the courses here in NE Kansas will open if it's about 40 in the winter. I'll go play on 40* days ---- especially if it's been in the 20's for highs. I agree with Coco, it's kinda fun when the ponds are frozen and you can play the "skip shot".

I live in south GA so to me this is the best time of the year to play! I hate the humid heat we have here most of the year. If it is over 35* I will play. That being said, that is almost 365 a year!

If the forecast is for 45 degrees or over - I'm in. If it's not that warm when we tee off, at least I know it's getting warmer.

 

I've played in soem horrendous conditions - it's actually kind of cool to see how well you can do, and what shots you can come up with... I think it makes me a better golfer...but then again, I'm not too good to start with!

In Texas, its get a bit chilly at less than 50. We have a wet cold here. So the wind is normally blowing and its humid. I'll play as long as it gets to 40 F during the day.

 

That said the coldest I've played in was 33* F with rain and sleet, and wind gusts to 35-40 mph. Absolutely miserable in a high school tournament. Two days of that, and they called it on the second day after nine holes.

 

Last week, it wasn't really cold here but it was strange. We had a cold front come through. Not really cold, actually 65 F. But the wind was blowing between 50-60 mph in Houston. Craziest round I've ever played in.

Just got done playing here in Savannah, GA and today it was 40 degrees with constant drizzle and wind. By the 12th I could no longer feel my hands, I was just positioning them on the club and hoped they stayed there. Probably won't do that again. ;)
