Wie now playing SUMO² at Casio World Open

I'm not at all trying to bash Wei at all but here are a few reasons why she cannot compete against the PGA Pro's right now-

She hits the ball 280 off the tee, would rank her 172nd on the PGA tour. The players that hit the ball short are very accurate off the tee which then leads to-

She might hit it 280 occasionally, eg in Hawaii with nuclear winds with 70 yards of run. In Switzerland, in the Omega, she averaged 246 yards and that's in rarified air. In the Casio, she's averaging 255.6 yards

It would appear that she has lost length recently. This isn't bashing her, but why are we so concerned what equipment somene is using to hit the ball 250 yards? For many guys on this site, that's a 2 iron!!

Laura Davies and Babe Zacharias were truly exceptional hitters in their primes. Michelle Wie is definitely not.

Why all the bad talk about Michelle?? I will agree that she is no the best player on the field, and that she is falling short(long actually) from the expectations everyone has. But she is got plenty of potential, and will eventually develop into a fine player. She has been finishing in last place but I'm sure that she will make the right adjustments. On the other hand, I think that she should stay away from her management firm, and her dad should slow down a little bit. The las thing we want is to see drama between the kid and her parents. Maybe both ideas contradict each other, but the bottom line is that she has the potential, and is willing to do better. Perhaps the coach is the problem (Leadbetter) and she should change her strategy,but she will win eventually.

God I love Golfwrx...

Anyway, I'm not surprised that she's using the Sumo2. It's great for marketing. As far as Tryon goes, I'd like to see him do well. He's got the talent, just had a bit of a rough few years. He could still turn it around.
