buyer beware!!!

just had a customer bring in a yes! head he bought off of ebay today to get shafted with a ust feel filter shaft and low and behold the head was a fake...the thing was rediculously close to the real thing...i had to compare the real head and the fake head side by side to see the differences...the fake had bigger logos and letters on the sole of the putter...the face had the grooves but had no mill marks at all...the back portion of the head had a gray finish instead of a dark gray finish...this thing was scary close to the real deal...because of the fake head i told the customer to return it even though he only payed $40 for it... (cool)

did a search on the bay for yes putters a few days ago and sort of wondered what the deal was. Checked the feedback and others have noted the same thing.

i bought one also, but the thing was, the head was legit, but the shaft was not. i found out thru yes customer relations they had a person doing design work who was apparently in financial 'situation' and he took many yes heads and sold them to some folks in CA. they were shafting them and selling them new without headcover on ebay. they had crossline grips. the did refund me though.

Not doubting your expertise but possibly, could it have been the first generation of Yes putters since they did put out two versions with different colors? I know the Callie looked very much different in the 2nd Generation.

Any chance you could post some photos. I also bought a putter off of ebay but it was brand new, in the plastic and had a headcover. Wondering if it was authentic... The face does have milled grooves though and I paid $120 or so.

I have noticed that it does have a habit of missing putts... damn imposter... (cool)

I second that.

i've seen the differences between both generations i actually like the quality of the 1st generation more than the current one...the old heads had more pronounced grooves and the grooves werent darker than the other parts of the face...i also compared the size of the logos of one that was from yes and the one my customer has and the sizes were off...the fake was about 10%bigger...also the shade of color of the finish was a little bit off...
