R7 tp irons from ebay help?

No record at TM customer service

Got a set of R7 tp irons on ebay and when I called TM with the serial number off the 7 iron they said it's not in their system. The clubs look great, even with a VERY close inspection. (If they are fake WOW what a great copy) Even the buffing marks are the same as a set I just looked at in a retail dealer store.
Only difference is they have tour velvet grips because the seller said a customer requested them and backed out. Has anyone had an experience where a real product serial number is not in the TM system? The seller has great feed back and is very good about communicating about them and say's he guarantees they are 100% authentic TM clubs and if they prove to be not, no problem he will refund my money. The only thing that bugs me is the serial number thing. It's a combo of 8 letters and numbers and starts with a 6 just like the retail but why no record @ TM?

i had the same problem happen to me once. Do not worry.

 

TM explained that at times, the system that tags and documents the serial numbers on the way out the door goes down. Rather than hold up the production and shipping line, they continue shipping them even though it is not documented in their systems.

 

Rest assured though, they will still be honored by the FULL warranty.
