at a 6 hcap your far above the average. if i had to make one comment from an asthetic point of view; i would say if you could get away from breaking that elbow so much it would look much prettier. it might prove to be really difficult as it would make the takeaway arc much wider and might get you lost for the down swing. it might shorten your swing also which may bother your. in the end im not sure that it matters. i have seen pretty swings on young 20+ handicaps. looks can be decieving in this game.

I appreciate the advice i just want to make sure that I am understanding what you are meaning being that I am much more of a feel vs technique player are you mean that i should delay breaking my right elbow on the take away.. holding off so to speak? I personally think some of the more usual swings (Furyk, Bubba) look awful initially but they do grow on you. Although I am very inconsistent with my driver. Do you think that breaking of the elbow might have something to do with some inconsistency with the longer clubs?
thanks in advance

if you would have never indicated your handicap i would have never guessed it single digit by your swing. well i was taught off the bat to keep the left arm straight. i just have always viewied it as part of a good typical swing. from a rational point of view i would think the straight left arm is consistant length or anchor. where you can focus more on your body rotation and the limb is more along for the ride as extension of the body. it almost appears as if you brake it in attempt to make a full turn. your shaft actually goes past parallel to the ground. you will find many pros who dont even take it to parallel. steve stricker, camillo villegas, jason dufner all stand out in my mind.
your rythum and finish look good and powerful to me except when you lose your feet. But the real proof of the pudding is your handicap. only a small percentage of players becomes single digit in the full spectrum of golfers. again that was my perspective.

I think my lack of technique come from not have any guidance. I certainly see what you are saying about the elbow breaking to compensate for the lack of body rotation. One of the only lesson I took was last year and it was cause I had been pulling the ball. I was cupping my wrist I corrected that and the pro said "it's a interesting swing it works for you don't change a thing" then again Moe Norman didn't have anything pretty but he is one of the best. The foot work is something that I have been working on. My home club just banned metal spikes so I'm dancing around a little but with the soft spikes. Just another thing on the list that I have to work on.

I wouldnt make any drastic changes if i were you. Maybe tweak it here and there. Ask a freind in the club if it looks better on the range while your trying somthing new. Thing about swing changes is your score will usually suffer before it gets better. In your case i cant even say it would improve your ball striking. Only the way it looks. Who knows it could unlock somthing.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
