US Virgin Islands?

Looking to take a relaxing trip to USVI in March.

It looks like St. Croix has Carambola and St. Thomas has Mahogany Run.

I looked at both courses' websites -- usually, the website images are supposed to be flattering, but these aren't.

Has anyone played? Thoughts / comments?

I played Mahogany Run about 3 years ago. Wasn't in great shape when I played it (November) and was pricey. Still was a great experience and have a few very scenic holes (see Devil's Triangle). I'd say its worth playing once if you are there, just don't expect to be blown away going into it. I've heard the golf on St Croix is the better option but I can't speak to that myself. I still intend on playing Mahogany next time I go back to USVI, namely because its only course on St Thomas and that's where we like to stay.

Had anyone played Mahogany Run recently? Going in May and will likely play a few times. Also, contemplating taking a day trip to St. Croix to play courses there. How difficult is it to get to St. Croix from St. Thomas and is it worth it?

I played it at the weekend and it was in the best shape for a long time. It had suffered a lot from a lot of rain and then some poor greenkeeping but it was looking back to its best. Its always a fun little course to play, not too taxing but with some interesting holes. Best burger around as well for after.

I believe its "just" a seaplane ride to St Croix, have a feeling it would not be worth it cost wise to go over there as from memory the cost of the courses over there are quite expensive too.
