Golf Town in Watertown, MA - Good Experience

Just wanted to give some quick recognition to Golf Town in Watertown, MA for a great experience I had there last night. I went in and traded in two old Titleist drivers which they were very open about the PGA website value for. Andrew helped me out with that. $50 bucks for a banged up 907 D1 and a good condition 909 D2. I'm cool with that. Proceed to walk around the driver isles and get introduced to Steve. I was looking for an X Stiff shaft driver, Taylor Made, Callaway, etc. and he finds a few for me and we go to the simulator. After not hitting an R11 S that great, and balking at the $299 price tag still, he finds me a TEE CB4 Tour 9 degree with the RIP Sigma X in it. Spin rate went way down, launch angle nice, great looking club and a few drives with a 3 handle on them. He knocked $20 off the sticker, which was already down from $349 to $279 and I was out of there for around $200. Nice guy and very knowledgeable about fitting, from what I could tell. I will be going back, even though I love buying golf stuff online, this place makes you want to come and shop again.

They are very good. When I got fitted for my new irons they all knew what they were talking about and played no tricks. For a big box store I was very impressed, defiantly will be going back.

Was surprised to drive by the other day, and see that it's now a Golfsmith store...

Was thrilled really, as that makes my clubmaking that much easier!

It's not a big secret. Golf Town (Canadian company) bought Golfsmith here in the US. The only Golf Town stores in the US were also only in Mass, and there's no Golfsmiths up here. So, they converted the Golf Towns into Golfsmiths. Makes things less confusing and much easier for ditribution. I personally think it's a great marraige.
