Help eliminate my buddies push slice and duck hook

Been playing with him for about 9 months now. He got me down from the 100s into the low 80s tweaking my swing but we cant figure out his latest issue. He has never had this problem before and equipment has not changed. 75% of his drives push right and stay there the whole way. Hes obviously not closing the clubface enough before impact but he's wondering if it has more to do with his take away or down swing.

 

The only major thing I notice is his left foot picking up and moving inwards on his down swing.

I wasn't watching the ball flight while recording these swings but it appears they are not pushing haha. Anything you notice from these would still be appreciated!

Talked to him last night, he says his misses are a push slice and a duck hook with his driver and tall irons

Tell him to work on the transition at the top - which he accelerates wat too quickly/agressively - it should be a much smoother transition/gathering at the top - not a pause (not a good swing thought) - but a smooth easy transition

Folks think they have to pull it, jump at it from the top - but you will get more distance slowing it down at the top and hit it straighter

I have struggled with the same exact thing and his problem is his path on the downswing is too much rightward meaning he comes too much from the inside on the downswing. This video helped me a lot so have him take a look. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ur47gqA1CQo

Thanks for the breakdown. He tried this out and is definitely hitting it better. Still had a few though. Probably just going to take some time to get back to where he was
