Join Us - Minnesota Drive for Awareness - August 25th, 2013

On Sunday, August 25^th, 2013, the Minnesota Drive for Awareness will be held at Theodore Wirth Golf Club in Minneapolis. The Minnesota Drive for Awareness is an annual fundraising event hosted by two family run volunteer non-profit organizations: the Lil MAC Kids Foundation and The Lake Family Foundation.

The Lil MAC Kids Foundation is a family-run 501©3 non-profit organization formed to assist needy families in Minnesota and Ohio with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Each year, the Foundation will award funds to families with Autistic children that are in financial need. Each year, 1 in 88 kids is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. With the proper therapies, many children with ASD are capable of living more productive and self-supportive lives. Due to the costs of these programs, many families are unable to provide early intervention and on-going therapy for their children. Our goal is to provide financial assistance to help bridge this gap.

 

The Lake Family Foundation is a family-run charitable organization formed to assist families in the Twin Cities area that are going through challenging times due to an ongoing battle with Prostate Cancer or the passing of a child to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). The Foundation was formed in 2013 by a local Minnesota family with the goal of raising awareness and providing financial support to local families in need. More babies (age 1 – 12 months) die from SIDS every year than any other cause. And about 1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with Prostate Cancer during his lifetime. As a family, we have experienced both challenges and understand the costs (mental, physical, and monetary) associated with each battle. Our goal is to raise awareness of these causes while providing assistance to families in need of our support.
