Can I raise my spin numbers and distance with a ball?

For a possible too low spin driver

Off to Ping for another Trackman analysis of my driver numbers.
Last time, my spin numbers seemed extremely low. 1700-1800 with their suggested set up.

They were actually happy with those numbers because of the combo of speed (more ball speed than my old driver) and launch angle (down to 14*) for an added 10-15 yards.

They fitted me into a G10 9* / PL Red stiff. But since picking up my G10 White Board 73, I really like this combo better. Better accuracy, blah blah blah....

No idea what the balls were at Ping's facility. Sure they were of better quality though. I currently play the HX Tour.

So if when in on Monday, my spin is about the same, can I pick up some spin by going to a different ball?
From Golf mags ball test, you can add/subtract spin off the driver by changing balls. But their seems to be a correlation between more spin and less distance. Example: Nike One Platinum 500-600 more spin off the driver than the Pro V's, B330....but 5 yards less distance.

Possible?

Yes you can! Pick up a Nike One Platinum and try that out on the Trackman.

The person who lost 5 yards may well have different stats to yours.

No-one on here can give you a definitive answer like trying it for yourself can.

when you look at launch numbers, you are really looking for an optimal window of launch/spin numbers to give optimal distance. Too little spin and the ball wont carry, too much spin and the ball balloons.

If your optimal numbers are 14* launch, 2500 rpm, and you are currently getting 14* and 1700 rpm, then a platinum should help distance. If your numbers were already 14* and 2700 rpm, then switching to the platinum should decrease distance.
