Miura small L.E. blade shaft recommendation??

Selling a set of Pings and Callaway and purchasing a set of Miura blades. Which shaft do you think would be best for

A) A low piercing trajectory

B) Preserving or complimenting the feel of the Miura blade.

Nippon 1150 tours,

Nippon Super Peening Blue

KBS Tours

Dynamic Gold X700 or X100

Black Golds

Tour Concepts

Project X

I appreciate any help you can give.

Thanks.

Awesome man. I love the fast reply. I'll probably go with the KBS, just because i have a set of Nippon Super peening in Epon Technica pro 1 irons so i know what they're about (low trajectory, soft, slightly vibrate on mishits)

Have the Dynamic Gold X100 with a set of Mizuno Mp-37's. Can't complain. They feel really nice.

Have tried black golds with Fusions....... they seem smooth and launch at a mid to high trajectory

Had a set of Tour Concepts in a set of Ping G2s. High launch (due to the iron as well) but buttery smooth. I would go with these again but i don't like flighted shafts.

Haven't heard a bad thing about the KBS Tour's yet. Only thing is some people say they launch high...

I have build many sets of the LE Blade and it depends on a number of factors...

- what king of swing you have... steep or shallow / flat or upright

- the spin you produce

- the length you play

The LE blade is a low spinning head, so if you are a low spin player you will get a long better with a shaft that produces a little more spin, and obviously if you are a high spin player you will get along better with a stiffer tip shaft that reduces some spin and lowers the trajectory....

Fit the shaft to your game and swing...no what everybody else says is cool...

From experience the DG Tour Issue shaft plays really well, as does the PX and the KBS Tour.

As for the KBS Tour shafts, they are a butt heavy shaft so you will typically need a little tip weight in the shaft, and you don't want to be tip trimming taper tip shafts on install unless you are boring out the hosel so they fit. The trick to the KB shafts is to get a good clubbuilder who understands the weighting needed and maintaining the proper frequency. The good thing about installing them in Miura heads is that the heads are heavier, so they match up very well with KBS Tour shafts to maintain proper swingweight without the need for any tip weights. These are definately some of the best shafts in terms of weight, flex(frequency) and overall build I have worked with.

The problem I have with Nippon shafts is that they fit so tight in the Miura hosel, you have to actually ream the hosel out a little to get them installed.... for that one reason I don't particularly care for Nippon shafts in Miuras...

Food for thought.... I hope it helps....

Thanks for the replies.

I definitely have a steep angle of attack producing a LOT of spin. I need a shaft that has a piercing trajectory and minimizes spin for sure. X flex is what i typically use. The only thing is, i don't want something that takes away the nice feel of the Miura head. I'd like something that compliments it. KBS Tour is Intriguing but I can't find anywhere whether or not they're low launching, low spinning, high kickpoint shafts or not...

KBS Tour has the same playing characteristics as the PX...but with a softer feel.

The same designer who make the PX also designed the KBS Tour. His intent was to create the same launch, flight and spin characteristics but with a softer feel that would appeal to more golfers... and he has definitely achieved this.

So if you want PX characteristics with a softer more user friendly feel... KBS Tour is the shaft.

Specs: Mid-High Launch that flattens out quickly with mid/low spin.

Mid/High Kick, firm tip, firm butt

If you want to lower the trajectory and firm them up a hair.... simply hardstep one time...

I can only underline what has been said earlier:

Don't take a decision based on what people are using. Do yourself a favor and see a good club fitter and let him produce a demo club based on your specs and goals.

Don't by from any mailorder shop !

The set will be expensive anyway, a good and professional club fitter will be happy to help you find the right shaft.

In my case after trying a few different shafts for my miura tournament blade I ended up with a Nippon 950 and love it.

I always thought I need a heavier shaft, but the Nippons produce exactly the ball flight and feel I was expecting.
