TM Burner, Srixon AD333 or NXT Tour

for 105 swing speed
I have 105 mph SS and don't want to spend over $30 a dozen for golf balls. Drop and stop spin is what I look for in a ball. I don't care for the ball to back up but I don't want it to roll off the back of the green either. I am not a fan of the Bridgestone line either. I have tried the e5's and they felt way to hard especially on chips. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Well... feel is very subjective, and personally, I don't think the e5+ is a hard ball. The original e5 was a firm feeling ball. But of the balls you mentioned, I would try the Burner TP. I picked up a dozen of these a couple of weeks ago at GPPGolf for $12.99 on sale. I have been impressed. The ball has a soft feel, good distance, and will drop and stop as you described. I believe that they regularly sell for about $26.

To me the NXT Tour feels heavy and hits like a soft rock. The AD333 is another good ball for the money - good distance, feel, and decent greenside spin, but it is not as soft as the Burner TP nor does it spin as much to me. However, at $20 a dozen the AD333 may be the best value on the market.

As said above, feel is a subjective thing. I play the Srixon AD333 as my regular ball. Its got good distance, feels soft and spins some. The biggest thing is the feel when putting--the feel is soft. The AD333 rolls true on putts and gives me confidence. I think its the best value (performance for $$$) in golf balls at $20 a dozen. With last year's Srixon tour balls on sale right now, both the Z-URS and Z-URC for $20 a dozen, I'd recommend grabbing some of them. If you want soft and spin, the Z-URS is the choice. I bought some and I love them.

I'm a fan of the burner TP balls, they do spin pretty well, and when putting are softer than the TP blacks

durability of the burner TP is much better than the top flite gamer (another cheap ball that's supposed to spin, but I wasn't a fan of)

I wish I'd known about the sale the guy above mentioned, I would have bought a bunch!

Haven't tried the Burner TP balls, as they are pretty new. Hear good things though, and they are a three piece balls, which helps the "drop and stop" on greens. Have used the AD333 and like it, feels great, hits great, but as someone says, this two piece ball does not stop. NXT's are not worth it - no matter tour or extreme, they are a rock.

if I would have to choose, I would go with Burner TP. Be careful buying the Burners - the regular Burner is cheaper (about $14 a dozen) and they are not the same (last years 2 piece version). Make sure you buy Burner TP.

I would also suggest the Burner TP, when I tried them out last year they would go long but also responded well to the short game around the greens. Then only thing I didn't like was the ball seemed to give me too much side spin if I didn't hit it correctly vs the Srixon Trispeed or Bridgestone e6+(Which I know you don't like the Bridgestone golf balls).

that's not completely surprising, the E6 is designed to spin less IIRC, which may help keep drives straight, but will make it tougher to stop on greens than a ball with more spin

I actually prefer the cheap Burner NON TP. It's super soft, decently long, and has predictable roll-out. And it's dirt cheap. Try a sleeve (if you can) and I guarantee that you'll be surprised.

Okay guys, I have found my golf ball...SRIXON TRISPEED

I played it for awhile last year and did pretty good with it but being a ball ho I was not convinced that it was the ball for me. I hit the TP Red and the Pro V1X for several holes tonight and did okay (still have early season rust). I decided to dig deep in the bag and found one Trispeed left in there. I hit my best drive of the year and then hit a 7 iron stiff to a back left pin on the second hardest hole on the course against a strong head wind. I forgot how great that ball felt off the driver and the putter (missed the putt but parred anyway). I'M BAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!!! Oh yeah, I hit a three iron on the next hole (218 yd par 3) and though I missed the green I was pin high on the second cut about 12 feet away. It was too dark to play anymore. I need to buy more of those.
