I've had the SS Tour hybrid since it was released. It does have a lower flight than most other hybrids I've hit like the TM Rescue and Cally heavenwood. Not really fully workable, it draws easy and is harder to fade. I haven't had to use it as often as I thought, but the season is early. I'm holding off on final judgement until well into the season and I've played my normal course rotation.

i've got a 18* slingshot tour hybrid. i've had it in play for two weeks. i got it to replace my taylormade rescue dual tp 19*. it does have a lower launch than the rescue dual, but higher than my 3 iron. it is longer than the rescue dual for me. it does have a left tendency, but part of that might be the the dgsl shaft. i'm getting it reshafted with a rifle shaft and should have it back friday with the exception of the left tendency, i'm loving it. i will experiment with leadtape. i really like the distance and trajectory.

Keep us posted on that Rifle experiment. I've often wondered about the DGSL as well. At times, it feels as though the shaft is giving way at impact.

i am playing a 18* baffler too and was looking at the SS Tour. I hit it into a net at a local golfsmith. i think they must have soft stepped the dgsl. i used to have a 16* rescue mid with a dgsl s300 i installed myself. and it was a much stiff then the s300 i tried at golfsmith. i really like the feel of the ss but i am not sure about the ball flight since i wasn't able to hit it outdoors. i am fighting the lefts with my baffler right now. i am also looking at the ft hybrid but don't like the stock steel shaft.

Wouldn't going with Rifle shaft make it really heavy? I wonder what dynalite gold x100 in SS Tour hybrid be like??? Only one way to find out...

that was the idea. i use rifle woods shafts in my woods, and my taylormade rescue dual tp 14* & 19* both have dynamic golf s300, not the sl or dynalite. i prefer heavier shafts as it helps me keep my swing in check. plus, with the trajecotory a little low, i thought the lower kickpoint wouldn't be a problem at all.

I have the regular Slingshot Hybrid in 20 and 23. Mine go dead straight and very high, perhaps too high. I'm wondering if the height is costing me distance.

I've got a 21 tour model coming to compare directly with the 20, but am also pondering taking out the Nike Speedstep and replacing it with a DG SL, or the spare UST Irod I have taking up space in my loungeroom.

I used to have the Nike CPRs and the TM Rescue Dual, and the Slingshots are even easier to hit off the deck and for some reason better off a tee.

nike speed step shafts are true temper tx-90, low kick point, soft tip which equates to high trajectory, high spin.

the dgsl are equivelant to the dg, but a different alloy so that they are lighter, but perform equally, high kickpoint, firm tip which equates to low trajectory and low spin

i've used the dgsl in a v-steel 3 wood and slingshot tour hybrid and had a tendency to find the left side. i reshafted the v-steel with a rifle and all was good. i'm in the same process with the slingshot tour hybrid. i'll know if it worked later this week. mind you, i prefer heavier shafts to keep my swing in check.

also, the non tour version has more weight in the sole, therefore higher launch angle and more spin. changing the shaft will bring the ball down.
