Nike SQ Tour Stand bag or Sun Mountain Four 5?

Was pleasantly surprised to find a SQ Tour Stand bag under the tree from Mrs. Claus. Had been considering a new bag recently, and the SQ was one of them. I walk the course 95% of the time. Currently with an Ogio Vaporlite that's been good, especially like the 3 lb weight, but want to try a 14 divider bag. I walk a lot, often more than 18 holes, and once a year (summer solstice) I walk 45 holes in a day, so weight is an important spec.

So, I've read reviews of the SQ Tour and Sun Mountain Four 5. I've looked at both in the stores and the SQ seems a good deal more sturdy and all around better quality and seems like it would last longer. However, SM is 2+ pounds lighter. One thing with the SM- it seemed like the individual slots for the clubs were quite a bit smaller than the SQ, and the grips kind of stick when taking clubs in and out. Other than that they seem similar to me.

Mrs. Claus wouldn't care if I exchanged the SQ for the SM so I've got to make a decision. Anybody else out there had to decide b/n these two bags? Which way did you go?

Used to have the SQ Tour bag and never had a problem with the bottom of the grips getting stuck. It's a great bag although a 2-pound saving isn't too bad!

Yeah the grips come in and out of the SQ just fine. It's the Sun Mountain that seemed a little small when I tried it out in the store. But that was awhile ago and I'm not positive it was an issue.

I have an SQ Tour, and I don't have a problem with grips sticking. The only issue I have sometimes is getting the clubs in the bottom row to fully seat at the bottom. I think there's some interference with the chamferred portion of the base.

I noticed that, too. Particularly the middle slot on the bottom row, which is where my 56* would be, which I need to pull out quite a bit.

For those that may be facing a similar decision...

I went to the local golf shop and compared the Four 5 and SQ side-by-side. Was strongly leaning towards the Sun Mountain before the side-by-side, again mainly due to the lighter weight. After side-by-side, Nike won going away. Much sturdier and overall better quality. Also like how easily the straps can be removed from the Nike (hadn't read this anywhere before). The straps clip off very easily, and can also easily be converted to a single strap. I ended up with the new 2010 color bag in red/midnight fog/silver. Very cool looking, and no "SasQuatch" logoing. Didn't mind the SQ logos (since I have a SQ driver), but I plan on keeping the bag for a long time, and the driver is subject to change as I type this.

What exactly is "midnight fog"? Black or Navy.

I use this bag, and it is a great bag. It fits the back really well and the clubs ride where you want them to. Very durable, but it is a little heavier than some other bags with less features. Works fine in a cart. The strap is excellent, tho at first i thought the bubble a gimmick, but it is not. One thing I dont like are the leg stands, they need to put some decent rubber feet on them instead of the tiny cheap ones they used.
