3 Wood Cracked, the search begins

I've hit the F7 and M2 tour. Those are 2 very different clubs. Both are rocket launchers but the F7 has a MUCH larger footprint. You can also adjust the F7 so you can make it go high or low. The M2 was not forgiving enough for me so it never made it past the demo stage. If you're consistent enough, the M2 has a great sole shape for all lies. Not as good as the baffler rails but the size of the F7 somewhat negates it. The G400 gets rave reviews and anything TEE is usually a safe bet.

I have been on a 3w search this year also and the one that earned the spot is the M3. It beat out the F8+ (feel was ok but wasn't as good, M3 was longer at higher loft), 2016 M2 deep face (not as forgiving), Rogue/SZ (hated the feel), Epic (hated the feel), tour issue 2017 M2 (just never got comfortable with it). Anyway, you're going to get a hundred different recommendations so do yourself a favor and try as many as you can.

Add one more vote for the CBX. Played exotics fairways for the past eight years CB1/CB4/CB Pro/ CB Pro f2 now the CBX. I have yet to find a fairway wood that comes within miles of the exotics. Plus with the CBX, the HZRDUS Yellow comes stock and is a lethal shaft for strong/fast swings. Feel free to msg me for more details/info on the Exotics

Really appreciate all the feedback.

I think I have it down to the G400 (either 14.5 or stretch depending on what the distances are) and the Cobra f7/f8.

I love the low profile of the G400 and hitting a fairway off of the deck has been something i've always struggled with.

I plan to go test some later today and I will definitely look at the M3. is the M3 similar to the 2017 m1? There are a ton of great deals on those now.

I recently had the Rogue SZ and it was too low spinning for me with the 75X EVN flow. I then nabbed a standard model Rogue 4wd with the same shaft and also couldn't seem to get it to work for me. It liked to go left. I then swapped the 4wd in for a new M3 3HL with the 7X Tensai Blue. Only played one round with it thus far, but color me SUPER impressed. I was hitting it great off both the tee and the deck. It looks great behind the ball and feel very soft. Do yourself a favor and at least check this thing out.

BTW, I also had the G400 fw. NOTE: I'm a HUUUUGE fan of the G400 driver.

The fairway wood though was a love/hate for me. I think the very long face profile encouraged me to hit it toe side. The feel was ok, but not great and it just isn't nearly as hot as the TM fws in my experience.

If you're going with Cobra, I highly recommend the F8 over the F7. It's not as adjustable but it's better off the turf. The F8+ is like a mini driver so you can actually go with the 4-5 in the + and still get good distance and height.

The G400 Stretch is bigger than the G400 but both look really good at address. If the M3 didn't work out for me, I was going to test the G400 next.

The biggest difference between the M1 and M3 I've seen is the size and it's not that big of a difference. The face and sole shapes are similar, the sliding weight isn't that different, but the M3 is 10ccs smaller which could all be in the rear of the sole where it looks like it's raised a little. They - TM - say it's more forgiving but since I haven't hit the M1, I'll have to take their word for it. It really is very forgiving. I hit some way out toe hits and they took off like a rocket.

BTW, I also owned the M1 3HL fw (yes, I'm a true WRX guy) and trust me when I tell you that the M3 is definitely an improvement over in my opinion. I also currently have the M2 tour fw and it is a beast off the tee but not incredibly easy off the deck. The M3 ticks both boxes me thinks...
