The difference in stiffness

Can anyone tell me the difference in shaft stiffness between the PX and the PX HL
or are they the same.

I have reserached them a lot but still have not gotten a set of the HL.

 

The standard PX has a 2 inch tip, which is what makes them "feel" stiffer than other rifles. They are great shafts but some players, EVEN TOUR PRO'S! have trouble completly loading these shafts.

 

The PX HL has a longer tip section that makes it feel "smoother" and more like a standard rifle, & easier to load for that reason but with the added improvements and technology of the standard PX. The HIGH LAUNCH name is a missconception because these are not a high trajectory shaft, they just allow for a little more spin but still flatten out like standard PX.

 

I'm very eager to get a set and put them into play, but i just got s new set with Rifle Flighted's, because the HL or standard PX were not an available option. So if i don't like my new set with the flighted i will try a set of the HL.

I was told by a Royal Precision guy that the flexes are the same. However, as Mobonic stated, the PX HL's will "feel" softer/smoother than the regular PX's do to the tip section.

That's correct...I play the PX HL (awesome shafts!) and they fell very smooth.

 

I don't have a ton of experience with other shafts, but I have hit a ton of demo irons the DG's and every time I do, I love my PX's even more.

 

You should give them a try!

i have both shafts in 5.0's. the originals in my Hogans Apex edge pros soft stepped once cpmed 308 (5 iron)standard length D2

when i got my 2nd hogans but Apex Plus, bcos they are less cavity i thought i might need a bit of help getting them in the air so i got the PX's HL straight in, this cpmed (5 iron still) abt 314 so i soft stepped these as well and the came out abt the same.

 

for me they do get up higher and come down much softer and with a little added spin and i do think they are longer. could be the club head

still trying to build the confidence with the apex + px's HL combo cos i lost my swing a litle during the change of sets

 

to me both shafts are smooth, the HL's have a little more tip action, i dont want to say this but i sometime think/feel they are not as stable as the original px's...they are lighter too by abt 5grams

Same thing you're hearing from everyone. They are the same shaft but with different cuts. Keep in mind that the Project X and X HL are also a little stiffer than a standard rifle so take that into consideration as well.
