TM-1 Resto, what'cha think?

My Father in Law gave me this putter about six months ago. He was carrying it when he got his first hole in one, so it was a very big gesture on his behalf. Well, I got to thinking, why not restore it with a little flare and present it back to him...

The Mission... this putter was in a sad state of affairs. It had long been bumped for about ten different Pings...lol. The factory paint was all but gone, the grip was all to pieces, and the shaft was rusty...

Well, I decided I wanted to blue it, but make it look old. So, I stripped the old finish off and proceeded to work on the head with a dremmel, fine sanding block, steel wool... then I blued it with a hot water rinse and allowed it to set a while and rust a tad. Then, I took the steel wool back to it. I repeated the process four times. After that, I cleared it with three coats. Then I polished the hosel by hand, no machine here. Then I added the paintfill and stripes. The paintfill was easy enough, but I put a ring around the hosel where it meets the head, and did kinda like a fireworks pop around the signature. I used yellow and white on the dark head because he is a HUGE Deamon Deacons fan. I have ordered a new 34" pencil shaft that I am gonna put on, and I am gonna grip it with a yellow IOMIC. I still have to shoot another coat or two of clear on the paintfills, dots, and stripes. I think it looks pretty good. I have about 10 hours of hand work in the deal. Let me know what you guys think... oh, the pics are not that great, the dark head with those bright colors has confused my camera...LOL.

I could'nt begin to tell you the specs. TP Mills did one that looks about identical to this one, so that would be a way to get in the ballpark. I appreciate the nice words too, I might have to putt with it a round or two before he get's it back!!!
