JDM TM ATV wedge - legit?

Hello,

 

I bought this forged ATV JDM wedge through Amazon for a little more than a domestic version of the club. I'm new to the JDM market and it seems a little too good to be true, price wise. Any info if this is legit or a fake is appreciated. I've never seen the JDM version of this wedge, so I have no knowledge to compare it with vs. the US version. It feels a bit lighter than my domestic club but it has a NS Pro shaft in stiff versus the domestic KBS wedge shaft (98 gm vs. 110 gm).

 

I love these wedges but TM isn't making the lofts I use in the upcoming release, so I'm cautious before buying another.

 

Any opinions are appreciated.

Tmade Japan did release this wedge. Pretty much the same version as the USDM model but Forged.

Ideally it should be a better feeling wedge and is much easier to adjust (bend) than the cast version.

It's possible that any club can be fake, "counterfeit". If you bought from a reputable source, dealer, you
shouldn't have any worries.

I know it's a forged version, which led me to want it, over finding another US version. I'm hoping anything bought through Amazon is legit, but have no idea how to tell if it's not. Amazon has a number of Japan based sellers bit this is my first time dealing with one.

I did try to buy it through Rakuten, but that didn't go well. Three emails all in Japanese with the last being from order-cancel @... and I went looking elsewhere.

Too much normal JDM details, such as label and badge (correct spec also) not to be legit. Living in Asia for a long time and come across fake clubs all the time. They usually do not look like this one.

It looks legit.

Rakuten shops are all legit. You won't find any counterfeit clubs there. There are a variety of reasons, but the short story is that it costs over US$7,000 just to have a shop on Rakuten and they are scrutinized and vetted before and after they open. One strike and they're out. Not all are going to sell outside Japan, though.

Amazon does not have the same seller vetting process, so there is some risk I think. I've never had a problem with any product or seller through Amazon Japan, but I live in Japan and don't have the same language hurdles.

Thanks for the info. I ordered a forged 50º from another seller on Amazon with good ratings as well as on eBay (ProShop Japan) but paid an extra $30 over other sellers just for not having to worry. I was surprised that with EMS shipping, it got here in a week.
