Matrix 7M3 Black Tie vs Nunchuk in driver

I currently play a Nunchuk in both my driver and fairway wood...I am building a new driver with a 9.5 ZL Encore head, I have a chance to get a Matrix 7M3 for cheap. Im wondering if anyone has hit both, is the Matrix a lower launch shaft than the Nunchuk? Thoughts on the feel (subjective)? Any info would be great...

Although my experience has been admittedly limited - about a bucket of range balls on each - I found the Matrix shaft to feel "better". To your point, that's entirely subjective. Both launched around the same for me (low), but I don't have terribly high ball flight as it is. YMMV.

You can't go wrong with either shaft. I have hit both and the Nunchuk had less spin than the Black Tie but launched about the same. The biggest difference I saw was that I could not go left with the Nunchuk, which was good and bad.

Bump for any others who can chime in on this. I also had the nunchuk in my driver and later put them in my fairway woods. A little less distance but I no longer get the disaster shots and am fairly accurate with them. I tried out the 7M3 with the thought that I would get the same sort of response as the nunchuk but in a lighter shaft for my driver, allowing me to swing a little easier and possibly add a little distance. I have had a few really nice drives with it, but the majority of my shots were way right and the combo did not feel right in my backswing. The nunchuk just gets me in the fairway more often and I like the feel of it at impact.

I actually wound up putting a Matrix RUL 70 into the Zl head...So far I have been very happy with the combo. The Nunchuk has the ZL adapter on it so I switch every now and then....My next possible build will be the Black Tie with a Grenade head in it. I have been asking around if anyone has hit this combo, looks like there are several people on here that are building just this combo...Will be fun!!
