What's up guys?

 

Complete noob and lefty from Illinois. Quite literally swung a club for the first time ever today, a few rentals at a charity fundraiser i'm involved with. I've always been interested in golf, but being a lefty meant that I could never really borrow anyone's clubs and I never really had the $$$ to drop on clubs, especially without knowing what I was doing.

 

But holy cow, this is awesome. Quick lessons and a full 18 on a cool spring day was perfect. Figure this golf thing is something worth getting in to.

It's the greatest game on earth, with so many iterations it boggles the mind, literally.

You did the correct thing by starting with lessons right out of the gate. If you have friends who play golf DO NOT listen to their "tips". :-)

You mean just swinging it like a baseball bat doesn't work? I've been lied to!

I know just enough to know that I need a LOT more practice, though it felt good to hit the back 9 and start making better contact and not lose a ball every hole or two. Time to study up and hit the range!
