Beached putters? please help

i have some questions for you

i have some questions about beached putters...

what does it do to the putter's "feel" in your opinion?
also i was wondering if anyone here has had a putter beached and if so how was it done and is it possible to do it at home with thr right tools?

doing a bit of an experiment with a putter i bought and might try doing this at home.

It changes the sound depending upon where its cut. Sometimes it Pings, other times more muted. The more muted, the "softer" it supposedly feels. Its not a do it yourself or home project. You need the right tools and experience to know what you are doing or it can get very dangerous. Your putter will also lose significant weight during the process.

As previously said, I find it has a much bigger effect on sound. I have a Slighter that has been beached and it really has a great sound to it now. I feel it gives me better distance control. Also, I can tell immediately if I hit the putt well or not.

i believe on avg you'd see around 8 - 9 grams loss on a typical F.F.,

It been said that a beached putter can produce a different sound or tone for different lenght of putts, unstead of making a the same sound on all putts with a none beached. This would help some with distance. It has also been said that an insert can do the same thing with sound as a beach. Supposably why Mickelson now uses an insert.

 

I loved beached putters. I'm a little upset that it going to be close to a year before the Rife Cayman comes out.

 

If you think you can beach your own putter, then go for it (Pics please if you do). Otherwise I would just suggest getting a putter already was.

I've got several beached putters, including 2 of the SC Center shafts. In general I've found that they provide more feedback in regards to if I hit the shot pure or slightly off-center.

 

When people talk about sound it is a pretty subtle thing. None of my beaches makes a pinging like a tuning fork or anything that extreme. Usually it's just a subtle softening of the "click" on impact.

 

All in all I like my beaches mostly just because of personal preference for the exoticness of it. It's kind of nice to have when training but if I'm playing a scored round and am only going to get 1 roll at sinking a putt then it really doesn't make any difference to me if the putter is beached or not.
