17 to go to catch Jack
Now that Tiger has 2 second place finishes in a major, he just has 17 more to catch Jack. 7 wins and 17 seconds and he passes Jack. Tiger still hasn't won a major from behind and I guess todays counts as the first time he has let a lead slip away since he was in first alone for a hole today. Augusta was the big winner this year.

Everyone always talks about the 2nd place finishes like that is some special stat. 2nd place is 1st loser. Jack knew that and so does Tiger. Who really cares how many times you come in 2nd. I would imagine that is actually a pretty disappointing stat for Jack showing how many times he didn't come through when he feels he probably should have. I know, I know, its supposed to be all about how many times he put himself in position to win. Yeah right, that's what losers say. 1st place or nothing for the immortals of golf. Anything less than a championship is and should be a huge disappointment for jack or tiger.

Hmmm.....if you finish 2nd a few times in a major (Phil Mickelson) then it's probably not a big deal. But 19 2nd places in addition to the 18 wins is a pretty darn good stat. I think Jack likes it too. Besides, not all the 2nds are a reflection of not getting it done, sometimes you just end up there when the field around you falls apart at the end except for one guy.

Tiger got lucky...he tied for today's 2nd. ;-)

Absolutely - shows a consistency of performance in the big events.

Well played Zach Johnson, he won over a brutal test of golf against some of its biggest names.

Oh wise one, you forgot to add that in addition to your measurement of surpassing Jack in the number of second place finishes in Major tournaments, Tiger should also be required to catch and exceed Jack in the categories of children and grand children! :friends:

I'll disagree 100%. Being 2nd means you didn't get it done. You had 4 days (5 - US Open?) to beat the guy that beat you and you didn't get it done. This stupid "2nd place" stat just tells me how truely dominant Jack could have been if he'd closed the deal a few more times. Not that he wasn't amazing and probably the best player ever, but think of how amazing he could have been. That could have been 37 majors. No way do I think anyone would have caught that.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
