Retro Ping Bag

I woulnd't call it Vintage but Retro sounds more like it. Growing up I had a PING bag that I had for a while. Actually up until High School when I had to use a school bag. Then someone decided they wanted it more and it went missing.

 

I've searched high and low on ebay for the last few years never to see another. So I figured maybe someone here would know something about it.

 

I got it in the early 90's when I bought my EYE 2+. I cant remember if it was a single or double strap. I want to say single. It was a stand bag. One of the first ones I remember seeing. But i was prob 10 or 11.

 

I've seen lots of bags like it but the kicker is... This one almost had a fish scale texture. And in the sunlight it would have a few different colors. Mine consisted of a turquoise, blue and purple scheme. I have hoped to find one like it since it's been gone but have had no luck finding a model name or number.

 

Anyone know anything about this particular bag?

I had one. It was blue/green, depending on how the light shined on it. I want to say double strap, but maybe I had one of those add on 2nd straps. It was my first real bag, and was only replace by another Ping, which was just replaced by another Ping. They seem to last me about 10 years. I don't know how to post images but google "Classic Ping Stand Bag" and then click on the images. It will be the 4th row down and in the middle.

I loved that bag.

Yep! that's it! In my searches I think I always forgot to put "stand" bag. Dang, it looks just as good as I remember.

Like I said, I loved that bag. It reminds me of my high school golf team, rounds with my grandfather, and early morning Saturday tee times where I was so hung over I'd have to go hurl in the bushes.

It was called the L8, not to be confused with the current offering of the L8, and was sold until 2002 or so.
