With the correct technique it is not hard to remove:

Put the head (if possible) in the freezer for a few hours, best overnight. Then once it has been in there, take it out and clamp the shaft as tightly as possible in a vice. Heat the flat sole underneath the hosel as if you were pointing the flame directly up the shaft towards the grip (don't heat anywhere else on the hosel just there), spray some WD40 where the shaft meets the hosel, then twist the head while pulling it off. You can squirt some WD40 right where the shaft meets the hosel and just keep twisting/pulling. I heated the hosel with a butane/propane torch for about 30 seconds or so and once the head starts to twist using a fair amount of force you should be able to pull it off.

You do not need the ball bearing for the reshaft. I refuse to drill my putter under any circumstances and this has worked 100% of the time.

I've got an old ping n'echo putter and after contacting them received the following information:

The current repair/adjustment time is 5-10 business days in-house, plus the shipping time back and forth. The cost to reshaft a PING putter is $28.00 + your local sales tax, and $8.00 for return shipping (within the U.S.)

I tried the "freeeze" method, and maybe the mini-torch I used didn't generate enough heat, but the clubhead wouldn't budge. I'm gonna try again with a buddy's torch.

Good luck

What if the shaft is broken off at the hosel & all your left with is the bearing in it, any suggestions?

I have always been lucky that I have been able to get something on the hosel, but I do know people that have drilled the ball bearing with an extremely strong carbide drill - but it takes an age to do (ball is tempered or is very hard if it isn't) and the bit slips a lot, but if you can get rid of the ball bearing then just remove the shaft that is left using a shaft extractor...and one that I have heard of is to follow the steps I first gave, and then bang the head of the putter against rubber with the ball bearing pointing to the floor and hopefull the combination of heat/cold will allow it to drop out...hmmmm...not sure about that...ps. would have replied sooner but this email notification thing does not work all the times since the new style board I find...good luck...

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
