Reshafting problem--Need Suggestions

Shaft will not stay in head

As I began to reshaft my irons, I came to the 4 iron and tried to install it as normal. After I epoxied the shaft and the head, I began to install the shaft per usual. I noticed that the shaft began to creep out like there was an air pocket in the head. I have recleaned the shaft and head and tried, but it happened again. What do I do?

cool dog gibbyfan...does your handle imply that you're a fan of kirk gibson? about your shaft not fitting your club head...try hammering the tip of the shaft...good luck

You may have epoxy build up in the shaft tip. The air pressure will push the shaft out. make sure the shaft tip is clean and all epoxy is drilled or removed from inside the tip. This should solve the problem.

Thanks about the dog. No way a Gibson fan. He killed me with his homerun against the A's. Just a nick name of my hometown course.

I thought about that. I put a tip weight in and I think that it might be plugged with epoxy or part of it might be. I will drill it out and give it a try.
