Back In The Game - Northern Maryland

Just got back into the wonderful sport of golf after almost 12 years. First played back in 93, during my senior year in high school and was hooked for about two years. Military life and drinking kind of put golf on the backburner.

 

Got the itch this year while everyone I work with talks about how they went out and played 18 on each weekend and I decided I wanted to get back into the sport.

 

Anyway.. the name is Joe, 32 years old and I'm hoping I can break 90 once I decide to get my @$$ out there and play my first round after 12 years!

Welcome back - I think you'll find that it's quite addictive. That's about the age I got back into it as well.

 

The golf scene in Maryland has changed a lot in the past 12 years. There's a lot of new courses that are very nice, expensive but nice. Being locating in Carroll County, you can go in any direction and find great courses within 30 minutes.

Last time I played a round was down south, in my little home town in Arkansas. At the peak of the two years I had played, I did break 80 a couple of times on our hometown course.

Courses in that area are not that great.

 

 

I definately know what you mean by the Carroll County location; I've researched and I've located at least six to seven courses within 30 minutes drive of my home.

I've been hitting the driving range up until I am confident I won't make an @$$ of myself out on the first tee :shok:

Another golfer to the Maryland family. I'm in Frederick county and have been looking for a steady group to play in for quite a while.
