NYC-area club fitter referral

I discovered this website just weeks ago and am already fully addicted. Excellent place, I'm looking forward to spending precious work time here.

 

Anyway, can anyone recommend a good club fitter/maker in the NYC area? Preferably Northern NJ, but I'm certainly willing to travel (NJ/CT/NYC/Long Island) if necessary and the fitter is worthwhile. I've searched the website but haven't come across anything yet, but my apologies if I overlooked something.

I Have a question in addition to the original: do you need to get fitted before you get new clubs? Or, can I bring my clubs that I just bought to the fitter and have him fit me? thanks

they are ones who take care of all the C.C. work in westchester, local PGA pros and AM's.

They also do work for Tour Pros during the barclay classic, us open etc etc

AGREED! I went to these guys and they are the real deal! Top 25 Pro Shop in the Country, Wall Street Journal Featured, Bloomberg, Golf range magazine....need I say more?!?!

I was fit in October for a set of sticks and they are literally the best clubs i've every hit, owned, etc. I've changed sticks every year and have always played the latest and greatest and last year decided to get fit the right way. I called practically every shop around. The golf galaxy and golfsmith stores were a joke. They were the worst of any golf shop that I visited. Then a buddy of mine told me about novogolf and what a great shop it was and showed me the Wall Street Journal Article and Video. I saw that they were Using Trackman and knew this was the way to go.

The best thing about it was that the fitting was outdoors. I have many friends that have used folks in CT and white plains and they've all been less than satisfied with the results and the prices that they paid. The biggest problem that we all have with the other facilities is that your getting fit indoors into a net with a vector launch monitor or some other simulator. How can one really trust those things? Sure, you may be dealing with a good fitter, but that fitter is only as good as what he sees on that computer screen while hitting into a net/screen 10 feet away. If im going to spend 3K+ on sticks, I better be able to see the ball flight so I can confirm what does feel and perform the best. There is absolutely no substitute for outdoor fittings. On top of that, getting the opportunity to use the Trackman is a huge bonus!

I may seem a bit too passionate when it comes to this topic, but that's because I wasted so much $$ on the wrong clubs for many years. I never really thought fitting would be the answer, because I had been fit indoors and was never satisfied with the results until now. Finding this shop was really one of the best things that could happen to my golf game!!! Im a golf freak! I live for golf and am nuts when it comes to technology, gear, etc.

These guys are honestly the best golf shop i've ever been too and i've been to MANY. I know they have fit a number of asian tour pros, PGA pros, top amateurs in bergen and rockland county, etc. They actually had a guy fly in from Paris to get fit for a set of Miuras! Ok, he didnt come from paris just to get fit, he had to run in the NY marathon first! LOL!

These guys are so humble, yet know what they are doing and are in no rush to sell you anything. They really care about their reputation and want you to be fit into the right clubs and not just any club. That's so refreshing when it comes to going into a pro shop.

If you live in the Tri-state, you definitely want to visit these guys. All my buddies use them and have said nothing but excellent things about this place.
