I grew up just outside of Binghamton, NY where they played the BC Open. Winners include Fred Couples, John Daly, and Tiger even made an appearance while he was trying to play his way to a tour card.

 

And there was nothing cooler than hanging around the range getting a peek at what the best players in world were playing. Balata balls, Cleveland persimmon drivers, the first Mizuno blades…it was just too cool.

 

And then Golf Digest started WITB and to this day that’s the first section I look for when I grab a copy at the airport!
