Rangefinder

I have a Garmin watch that measures front, middle and back of green (can't remember the model)

I love my Garmin watch and will continue to use for green yardages however I have just joined a new GC so looking for a rangefinder to work alongside my watch to check bunkers and other points on the course for yardages.

I am looking for some recommendations.

I have seen plenty online but they are all £300.

I am hoping not to pay £300 and spend as little as possible on a good rangefinder that does the job.

Is that possible?

Not sure about availability and pricing in UK but over here there are numerous el-cheapo Chinese rangefinders in the $150-$200 on eBay. That's about as cheap as you can go without buying used but I've never tried any of them.

The Bushnell Medalist is absolutely fine in terms of performance and mine was pretty darned bullet proof for a decade or so until it got a bit wonky (probably due to dirt accumulation since I often carried it without the case). Those go, new, for around US$200.

The Busnell V3 was a small step up, bigger optics, slightly faster lock-on. Those go for closer to US$250-$300 here. Anything more than that is total overkill.

If you could pick up a clean, used Medalist I wouldn't pay more than 120 quid or so. I'm just guess but new they are probably 200-ish?

P.S. I just took a quick peek on Amazon UK and there were Bushnell Medalist for 190 pounds, shipped, and a Nikon Coolshot 20 (recently discontinued Nikon model, very small and light) for 152 pounds. Either of those would work fine I'm sure.
