Blades in wet weather

Right, just as I've tried, fallen in love with and nearly arranged a fitting with Mizuno, the doubts creep in. I have to ask you fellas about what it's like to play blade like irons (60's) off soft ground. What I mean to say is for many many years I have played with large cavities like the Cally's. Now I don't know if it makes any difference but do you have to be that extra especially clean in your strike in soft conditions.
Most of you guys from the warmer states of the US may not know what its like, but over here November to March (or later) the ground can be pretty soft. It won't be much fun if I'm playing off 10 with my new Mizunos in the summer and handing out all the dosh during the winter to my playing partners with their Callys.

Im not sure if I am reading this right but are you saying asking if you will have to make better contact in wet weather with blades so the club wont dig?

 

If you are then Im not sure but I think you might have to make a bit cleaner of contact because the sole isn't as big on a blade and it might dig in a bit more compared to a Callaway. But if you hit the ball well enough then in shouldn't be too much of a problem.

 

Of course what you could always do in tru club ho fashion is... buy the blades for the summer, and keep that callaways you have now for the winter months. That way you can win your friends money all year round. :tongue:

it's not necessarily a blade issue..it's a swing and leading edge issue... true most blades might have a sharper leading edge and thus DIG...but it's really the design of the head...not a blade vs CB thing.
