Playing a few rounds in and around Baltimore..Suggestions?

Arriving Saturday at Noon, looking to play somewhere after 2-3pm and possibly two rounds on Sunday. Suggestions as far as where to go and where to stay please. This is a last minute trip as we are going a few days before a work conference in downtown Bmore.

If you can spare a 30-45 min drive up 95, Bulle Rock is absolutely the best public course in the area (and regularly ranked top in MD).

Waverly Woods, Diamond Ridge. If you are ok with a little drive Worthington Manor, Whiskey Creek or Mushst Ridge going west. Going south queenstown harbor

Renditions is not wayyyy too far but it's probably a half hour or so at least. I recommend it if youre willing to go there, it's pretty fun!

Renditions is fun, but the Redskins are playing at home on Sunday. I would avoid that area. Traffic will be a nightmare all afternoon.

I don't usually have an issue out there when I hang out with my parents. Maybe closer to the Beltway but Renditions is in between Bowie and Annapolis. If he hopped on 97 to 50 the traffic shouldn't be any worse than usual.

Woodlands and Diamond Ridge is the best (maybe only?) option close by with two courses. I think the front nine of DR is the best in the Baltimore County system. Assume you're flying into BWI, TImbers at Troy or Waverly Woods are some of your better options. I think Timbers is overpriced and Waverly is better overall.

FYI. Compass Pointe about 25 minutes east of Timbers has 2 courses. You could play both on Sundsy. I think both courses are better than Timbers ...full disclosure, I work there. But I still think both are better.

Waverly Woods is a fun course...I really enjoyed Diamond Ridge and Woodlands last two times I've played it. I have a love hate relationship with Timbers (its 5 minutes from my house). I love most of the holes and the layout, I absolutely hate the pace of play (especially on a weekend it can be a nightmare of a crawl and the Ravens play at 4 which means more people will be out there) and I think it is significantly overpriced for the course (I try to roll out on weekdays and its hovering around $50 bucks), which is why I usually only play it if I am with a work vendor/client.

 

I played Renditions for a scramble for the first time and although people think its hokey, I had a blast.

 

As long as you stay away from Gunpowder and Patuxent you should be all set

 

Weather should be good too.
