Shot Stat Question

As part of my lessons recently my pro is wanting me to keep exact stats of each round, as it happens i was playing with my Father yesterday on a course i haven't played before and as we made the turn came across a 315 par 4 that really setup well and I just really liked the way it looked, feeling loose i took the big rip (i know not really good course management LOL) but for a change stayed in my swing on one of these short holes and a good roll later i am on the front edge of the green. Question is how do you cant this on your fairways hit? when i go to write up stats for the week to review at my lesson do i just count one less fairway that i could hit, or do i just count it as a fairway hit? I know there must be some people who track stats enough to know how they count it on the tour...

I don't know the official rule on this, but I think it's reasonable to count that as a fairway hit. You could either do that, or count it as one less fairway possible on the round. I would not count it as a fairway missed though since you didn't do anything wrong. Driving accuracy is a measure of how well you do at hitting it where you intend off the tee, so did you hit it where you intended to? I'd add that to the percentage personally.

thats what i am wanting to do, becuase if i dont add it to the percentages it makes the course apear to have more par 3's than it actually does and then other numbers dont match up. But then again if i can find the official stance on this it would help.
