High Launch, Low Spin Driver shaft! What are you hitting to achieve this?

Looking for a high launch low spin driver shaft for my driver what are you hitting?

I don’t think that exists unless a certain shaft gets you to hit it higher on the face.

Exactly.

 

Or causes you to, in some other way, change your swing and produce more favorable impact conditions.

I have a Tour AD DI which is supposed to be high launch, low spin……. But I really believe it has more to do with contact point on the face than it does with the shaft. I find my Accra FX 3.0 360 which is advertised as a low/low shaft can recreate the same launch conditions as my AD DI.

The answer to ur question really depends on whatever shaft gives YOU the best launch conditions. The type of driver head plays a role, but impact location and club delivery are the big ones.

What shaft are you using now, and what are your current launch/ fight conditions?

For me personally, I think that my contact gets higher on the face with stiffer shafts (maybe less shaft deflection so face stays closer to ground?). I know that my tee height has had to change pretty drastically based on different shafts.

I currently play a Tour AD HD which gives me favorable launch 11-13 with around 2600 spin. I feel like there is just something out there that could produce a little lower spin. Also I think the GD HD shaft plays a tad soft and should be tipped or go up a flex. SS-105-108

Those launch conditions seem pretty ideal. It might not be worth touching that if your face contact is consistent and in a good spot

I remember back 12 years ago Matrix made the White Tie shaft that was supposed to be high launch/low spin.

I know of 4 people that tried it and spun the crap out of it.

It really depends on the person.

If you’re able to lower spin through a shaft change, you’ll probably also lower launch, so I don’t think you’ll be gaining much.
 

Can you try a lower spinning ball? That way you keep the nice launch angle but lower spin.

Try ProV1x left dash. Similar spin to AVX with higher launch

Need higher loft, and there are shafts that have softer tips which could promote higher launch conditions. TR Red or OG Ventus Red comes to mind. You also need to hit up on the ball to some degree. Ventus Red  or ones like it paired with a LOW SPIN head with slightly higher loft can help you achieve "high launch and low spin".

Gave up on the high launch low spin chase personally. Went back to my low/low shaft to keep it in play. Happy to sacrifice a few yards and more playability in the wind these days.

 

I live where it’s windy a lot and that high launch “low” spin driver shaft just doesn’t work for me.

My high launch low spin comes from playing a firm low spin Tp5X golf ball, mid/low shaft,  8* head and hitting up about 5*. Peak height is a little over 100ft with launch around 12* and spin is ~2100rpm.

I'm in the middle of the same exact problem with similar numbers and testing multiple Tour Design options. I have a DI-6X that I like but the TP & BB shafts seem to give me more consistent results. Still working it out and the search continues.

 

The hardest part has been finding these Tour ADs locally to give a test run on so I've been borrowing spare shafts from friends or ordering them myself off eBay or wherever - I've read all the reviews and data but nothing can change having it in your hands:

Buy a 12 degree head and put it on a VF, Velo Black, etc.....

Start with the head. High loft, low spin head head, find a softer tipped shaft that keeps your dynamic launch is check so it doesn’t spin too much, use a prov1 left dash and get your AoA >4.

OP - keep it simple and start here.  The left dash is designed to have a higher trajectory, but keep similarly low spin to the AVX. 

 

Your other option, if your contact is consistent enough, is to try to raise impact a tiny bit on the face... even 1/8" will help to increase launch and lower spin due to the gear effect.

 

Lofting up, as some have suggested, will increase launch *and* spin, but you said you're looking to lower spin.

 

Changing shafts is a rabbit hole you might not want to go down.  Companies advertise certain launch/spin for a shaft, but that's based on the design.  Humans react to the feel of a shaft in a way that can never been duplicated by a robot, so how a shafts performs in your hands may not match what anyone else tells you that shaft "should" do for you.

TR Red in my existing G410 LST brought my launch up a bit and kept spin just right. I picked up a surprising amount of distance as well, but take it with a grain of salt because I also finally dropped down a weight class (from 70g weight class Evenflow Black to 60g TR Red). 
 

edit to add that the AD-IZ was in the running as well.

I use the Aldila Tour Green shaft in my driver. It's stout and stable, leading to minimal spin for me. Although I can control the trajectory well with a low tee, the standard setup tends to produce a higher launch. As a backup, I have the Oban Black shaft, which despite being marketed as low-low, actually generates more spin and a lower launch.
